Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bears RB David Montgomery scored a TD rushing and another receiving in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He took 12 carries for 53 yards (4.4 per rush) and caught all 3 of his targets for 38 yards. Montgomery next faces a Bills defense that got run over by Raheem Mostert on Saturday night. then comes a rematch with the Lions, who only allowed Montgomery 44 total yards on 9 carries and 1 catch in Week 10. The team expects Khalil Herbert to come off IR in Week 16, which will affect Montgomery's outlook.

Bears QB Justin Fields ran for 95 yards on 15 attempts in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, leading the team in both categories. That pushed him beyond 1,000 rushing yards for the season, making Fields just the 4th QB to reach that level. Fields added 152 yards and 2 TDs passing, a particularly nice fantasy performance overall against 1 of the league's toughest QB-scoring matchups. Fields will likely be worth starting despite another tough scoring matchup with the Bills next week. Then comes a more favorable spot at Detroit in Week 17.

WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith dominated Eagles receiving in Sunday's narrow win over the Bears. Brown led the team in targets (16), receptions (9) and yards (181). Smith added a 5-126 line on 8 targets. WR Quez Watkins was the only other Eagle to exceed 2 looks, catching 4 of his 6 for a mere 6 yards.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts struggled a little passing in Sunday's win at Chicago. He threw 2 INTs in a game for the 1st time this season and went without a TD pass for the 1st time since Week 5. Hurts made up for that with 3 rushing scores, though, leading the team with 61 yards on 17 carries. He also wound up throwing for 315 yards. He'll continue to lead fantasy football lineups the next 2 weeks through matchups with the Cowboys and Saints.

The Panthers totaled just 21 rushing yards on 16 carries (1.3 per rush) in Sunday's loss to the Steelers. RB D'Onta Foreman managed just 9 yards on 10 carries, with Chuba Hubbard rushing 4 times for 10 yards. Hubbard made up for it 57 yards on 3 receptions. A 45-yard catch-and-run powered that. Carolina RBs shouldn't factor heavily into your plans vs. Detroit or Tampa Bay the next 2 weeks.

Cardinals QB Colt McCoy suffered a concussion in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He's been replaced by QB Trace McSorley. We'll track McCoy's progress through the protocol this coming week.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore entered Sunday's game questionable with an ankle sprain but finished as the offense's lone bright spot. He caught 5 of 6 targets for 73 yards and Carolina's only TD in the loss to the Steelers. Moore should be a solid-to-good fantasy option against the Lions in Week 16 and Buccaneers in Week 17.

Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth saw 0 targets in Sunday's win over the Panthers. Pittsburgh attempted only 22 passes, which didn't help. But 7 other Steelers drew at least 1 target, with WR Diontae Johnson (10), WR George Pickens (5) and WR Steven Sims (2) the only guys to exceed 1. Zach Gentry drew the only TE target. According to Pro Football Focus, Freiermuth still led the position in routes, running on 73.9% of QB Mitchell Trubisky's dropbacks. That ranked 3rd among all Pittsburgh players. Freiermuth entered the game off 3 straight 3-catch weeks, so he has fallen out of must-start range in fantasy football leagues. Week 16 does hold an upside matchup with the Raiders, at least. A Week 17 trip to Baltimore also features a defense that plays the run tougher than the pass and fares worse against TEs than WRs in coverage.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson caught all 10 of his targets for 98 yards in Sunday's win over the Panthers. He drew 45.5% of QB Mitchell Trubisky's pass attempts, tallying 58.8% of the team's receptions and 54.7% of the yards. He was the only Steeler to catch more than 2 passes. WR George Pickens checked in next with 2 catches for 53 yards among 5 targets. WR Steven Sims was the only other Pittsburgh player to see more than 1 target. We'll see whether QB Kenny Pickett can make it back for Week 16.

The Steelers ran on nearly two-thirds of offensive plays in Sunday's win over the Panthers. RB Najee Harris racked up 24 carries, tallying 86 yards and a TD. No. 2 RB Jaylen Warren rushed 11 times for 38 yards and another TD. QB Mitchell Trubisky added a rushing score as well, among 6 carries for 9 yards. The RBs totaled just 1 target (an 11-yard catch for Warren). Pittsburgh faces a soft Raiders defense in Week 16 but then gets 1 of the league's worst rushing matchups in a Week 17 trip to Baltimore.

Jets QB Zach Wilson threw for 317 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He completed just 18 of his 35 pass attempts (51.4%) and threw an INT. WR Garrett Wilson led the way with 9 targets, catching 4 for 98 yards. WR Elijah Moore finished 2nd in targets (7), catching 4 for 51 yards. WR Jeff Smith went 4-77 receiving on 5 targets. TE C.J. Uzomah snagged both of the team's TDs as his only 2 catches (on 2 targets). The Jets get upside matchups with the Jaguars and Seahawks the next 2 weeks. We'd still prefer not to trust Zach Wilson in fantasy football lineups, but they'll at least be good spots for his WRs.

Jets RB Zonovan Knight led the team in rushing in Sunday's loss to the Lions, but he did so with just 13 carries for 23 yards. RB Michael Carter carried 4 times for 15 yards and caught his lone target for 16 yards. The Jets get a decent rushing matchup with the Jaguars in Week 16 but a terrific matchup at Seattle in Week 17. The Seahawks have been the league's most friendly to RB scoring by our adjusted fantasy points allowed.

Lions QB Jared Goff threw for 252 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Jets. It's not the kind of outing that's going to win fantasy football matchups, but it marked Goff's 6th straight game without a turnover -- despite a strong defense on the other side. That's enough to put Goff in fantasy consideration against a weaker Carolina defense in Week 16, and certainly for a home date with Chicago in Week 17.

Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch hurt his neck in Sunday's OT loss to the Jaguars. That's a particularly worrisome injury for LVE, who has a history of neck issues dating back to college. We'll see about his outlook for Week 16 and beyond.

Browns S John Johnson suffered thigh contusion in Saturday's win over the Ravens. He played through it for a portion of the game but sat out the entire 4th quarter. We'll see about Johnson's outlook for Week 16.

Bears LB Jack Sanborn injured his left ankle in today's loss to the Eagles and did not return. He was ruled out before the end of the game, which doesn't bode well for his Week 16 outlook. We'll watch for updates on Sanborn's status.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift led the team in rushing yards for Sunday's win over the Jets, tallying 52 on 8 attempts (6.5 per rush). He trailed RB Jamaal Williams by 5 carries (13-33) and watched another 6 go to Justin Jackson (for 16 yards). Swift garnered 9 targets, a season high and 2nd most on the team. He caught 5 for a mere 23 yards (4.6 per reception). Only WR Amon-Ra St. Brown drew more looks. He caught 7 of his 10 for 76 yards.

The Saints threw only 19 passes in Sunday's narrow win over the Falcons. That helped rookie WR Chris Olave acquire only 4 targets. He caught 3 for 53 yards. New Orleans has gone low volume in the passing game most of the year, but this was a season low in attempts. Andy Dalton was averaging 29.9 attempts per game entering the week. A Week 16 matchup with the Browns isn't scary for Olave, but you should probably plan to play someone else when he visits the Eagles in Week 17.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara racked up 21 carries for 91 yards in Sunday's win over the Falcons. He drew 84% of New Orleans' RB attempts, ceding just 4 to David Johnson. Kamara added just 13 yards on 2 receptions. The Saints threw only 19 passes for the game, which didn't help. But Kamara got only 10.5% target share and was sharing passing-down snaps. He'll remain a decent fantasy option against the Browns and Eagles the next 2 weeks. But the ceiling is much lower than it has been.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill injured his right foot or ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Titans. He made his way off the field but was eventually carted to the locker room. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Tannehill has an ankle injury, the team announced. It's the same right ankle he hurt back in Week 7, forcing him to miss the next 2 games.

Update: Tannehill returned in the 2nd quarter.
