Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Texans rookie WR Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell had himself a day with a team-leading 5 catches on 7 targets for 145 yards in Week 3 vs. the Jaguars. Teammates Nico Collins and Robert Woods struggled in this contest, each recording 34 receiving yards apiece on a combined 5 catches. These results are certainly disappointing for fantasy managers. The good news, however, is that this Houston offense seems pretty darn good with QB C.J. Stroud at the helm. Despite leading the whole game, the Texans chucked the ball 30 times. That type of continued passing volume is fantastic to see for fantasy managers. This will be an exciting unit to watch next week vs. the Steelers.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce found paydirt in Week 3 vs. the Jaguars with 14 carries for 31 yards and 1 rushing TD. The second-year back ceded a concerning amount of work to teammate Devin Singletary (9 carries, 41 yards), however. The big thing Pierce had going for him entering the contest was his 61.5% workshare of the Texans' RB touch opportunities. The narrowing of that split between himself and Singletary should raise an eyebrow ahead of their next matchup vs. the Steelers in Week 4.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud tallied 20 completions on 30 attempts for 280 and 2 TDs in Week 3’s surprise victory over the Jaguars. The rookie signal-caller is starting to heat up, and it seems fairly evident that the Houston offense is committed to throwing the ball. This is a team that held a lead throughout the entire contest and still recorded 30 pass attempts. At this rate of volume, Stroud may be sneaking his way up the list for streaming considerations in 1QB leagues. We’ll see what this bunch can accomplish next week in a tough test against the Steelers.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert enjoyed a career day against the Broncos. Seeing 20 touches — including a career-high 7 catches — Mostert rolled up 142 total yards and 4 scores. He became the fifth RB in league history with more than one career game of four scores. Denver’s defense essentially didn’t show up in this one, as Miami’s O-line consistently opened up huge holes. The Fins raced out to a big lead and wound up winning 70-20. Devon Achane enjoyed a massive day, too, taking 18 carries for 203 yards and 3 scores, looking explosive in the process. Miami will face a much stiffer test Sunday at Buffalo, but Mostert will remain a strong fantasy option.

Ravens WR Zay Flowers recorded team-highs in targets (10), catches (8), and receiving yards (48) in Sunday’s OT loss vs. the Colts. TE Mark Andrews saw some action as well, hauling in 4 of 5 targets for 45 yards in the Week 3 contest. The Ravens’ aerial attack hasn’t come out in full force yet this season, though both Flowers and Andrews have had solid fantasy relevance. The duo will look to continue their successes next week vs. the Browns.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 51 yards before leaving Week 3 with a concussion. Teammate Melvin Gordon III came in relief to record 32 yards on 10 carries. The Edwards injury was a big blow to Baltimore, a team that was already without RB Justice Hill due to a foot injury. Fantasy managers will have to keep an eye on the injury reports this week to see who is healthy enough to suit up in Week 4 vs. the Browns.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson made good use of his rushing ability on Sunday, leading the Ravens in rushing with 101 yards and 2 TDs on 14 carries vs. the Colts. He also completed 22 of 31 passes for 202 yards through the air in the Week 3 OT loss. The Ravens still have yet to record a ton of damage through the air this season, but it’s always great any time Jackson’s legs rack up that many fantasy points. Next up on the schedule for Jackson and company is a divisional bout against the Browns in Week 4.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. recorded a team-leading 9 catches on 11 targets for 77 yards vs. the Ravens in Week 3. We expected some good production from him, but hello, rookie WR Josh Downs! The first-year wideout had a solid breakout performance, logging 8 catches on 12 targets for 57 receiving yards in the contest. He’d been second on the Colts in targets so far this year, though this is the first game all year where Downs’ involvement translated to the box score. He’ll be a fun name to add off of the waiver wire this week in advance of Week 4 vs. the Rams.

Colts RB Zack Moss once again dominated the workload on Sunday, carrying the ball 30 times for 112 rushing yards to go along with a 17-yard receiving TD in Week 3 vs. the Ravens. Teammate Trey Sermon provided some relief with 5 carries for 17 yards and 1 catch for 4 receiving yards. This is the Zack Moss Show until Jonathan Taylor gets activated off of IR. Fantasy managers who took a shot on the veteran back are being rewarded handsomely. Moss will be an exciting start again next week against the Rams.

Colts QB Gardner Minshew completed 27 passes on 44 attempts for 227 yards and 1 TD in Week 3 vs. the Ravens. Those who needed a spot starter in 2QB or superflex leagues can’t be too upset with the results from Sunday’s OT win, though Minshew wasn’t anything special. Hopefully, rookie QB Anthony Richardson will be back under center for Indianapolis in Week 4 vs. the Rams.

Saints QB Derek Carr was taken to a local hospital for additional testing after exiting Sunday's game vs. the Packers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "They will check for, among other things, internal injuries," Rapoport adds. We'll update Carr's status when we learn more. He was replaced in Green bay by QB Jameis Winston, who finished 10-of-16 for 101 yards, 0 TDs, and 0 INTs.

Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne recorded 4 catches on 5 targets for 46 yards in Week 3’s win vs. the Jets. Both WR DeVante Parker and TE Hunter Henry had some involvement but ultimately flopped with just 2 catches apiece. Helping no one in fantasy, TE Pharaoh Brown led the team in receiving with 71 yards on 2 catches. One of those catches from Brown was the only offensive TD scored by New England. This one was just one of those unlucky games in crummy weather where the Pats didn’t need to throw a ton to pull out the W. Fantasy managers should hope for better results from these receivers next week vs. the Cowboys.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson carried the ball 19 times for 59 yards in Week 3 vs. the Jets. By the contest’s end, Stevenson had just 1 catch on 4 targets for 3 yards. On Sunday, Teammate Ezekiel Elliott had some standalone value with 16 carries for 80 yards. This was a bit of a disappointing outing for Stevenson, though the weather and the fact that the Patriots led the way for most of the game justifies some of why Elliott was so involved. Next up for the duo is a Week 4 matchup vs. the Cowboys.

Chargers WR Mike Williams rode a cart to the bus with his left leg in a brace after Sunday's win over the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Williams is scheduled for a Monday MRI, but this obviously looks like a serious injury. We should learn more tomorrow.

Patriots QB Mac Jones completed 15 of 29 passes for 201 yards with 1 TD and no INTs in Week 3’s win vs. the Jets. He also added 13 rushing yards on 4 carries in the contest. Between the bad weather and the Jets’ offense playing poorly, Jones didn’t have to accomplish much to help secure the W. Next week, he’ll have a tough matchup against the Cowboys.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson hauled in 5 catches on 9 targets for 48 receiving yards in Week 3 vs. the Patriots. There’s a realistic chance that he’s the only player on the Jets that can be useable for fantasy purposes at this point. This is a very anemic offense with QB Zach Wilson at the helm. We’ll see what they can put together in Week 4 against the Chiefs.

The Jets’ backfield is ugly. RBs Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook each tallied 18 rushing yards on 12 and 8 carries, respectively. Neither player is getting it done for fantasy managers right now. Next week’s matchup vs. the Chiefs isn’t going to be any easier. Both Hall and Cook will be flex considerations in deeper leagues for now, though expectations shouldn’t be high for either.

Falcons TE Kyle Pitts led the team in Week 3 with nine targets -- the second most of his career. He caught five of them but totaled just 41 yards. QB Desmond Ridder looked Pitts' way downfield a few times, but the duo was unable to connect. Another frustrating outing for the talented TE. Pitts has at least seen 14 targets over the last two weeks, which is enough to support him as a low-end TE1. But he needs to get better QB play -- and better play calling -- if he's going to come close to reaching his fantasy ceiling.

Jets QB Zach Wilson completed 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards with no TDs or INTs in Week 3’s loss vs. the Patriots. There’s no reason he should be in lineups outside the deepest of 2QB or superflex leagues. The young signal-caller will remain off the fantasy radar in Week 4 vs. the Chiefs.

Falcons RBs Bijan Robinson (10-33-0) and Tyler Allgeier (7-12-0) combined for just 55 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's loss to the Lions. Robinson's 11-yarder was the team's longest run of the game. The rookie at least salvaged his fantasy day with four catches on six targets for 27 yards. But it was a surprisingly ineffective day for one of the league's best running games. It's worth noting that Detroit entered Week 3 ranked 13th in run defense DVOA, so perhaps the Lions aren't a matchup to necessarily attack going forward. We're not overly concerned about the Falcons RBs, though. Robinson remains an every-week RB1, while Allgeier is a RB3 or flex that will produce better numbers when Atlanta plays with the lead.
