Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Colts have activated LB Jaylon Carlies from IR, and he is active for today's game against the Titans. CB JuJu Brents remains on IR, despite recently returning to practice.

Lions RB David Montgomery is targeting the Divisional Round for his return from an MCL injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Detroit will get the NFC's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye if they win out, so Montgomery might end up not missing any playoff games. Although risky, he could be a good pick in playoff fantasy football contests.

Titans LB Kenneth Murray Jr. is active for today's game against the Colts. He makes for a risky IDP option, though, after missing all three practices with the hamstring injury that kept him out two weeks ago. Murray did return last week to play 94% of defensive snaps against the Bengals, though.

Lions S Brian Branch (calf) is active for today's game against the Bears. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.

Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He was limited in practice all week, but we’ve heard nothing to suggest that the ankle will be a major issue today. Tracy projects as a low-end RB2 in fantasy lineups.

11:37am UTC 12/22/24

Titans K Nick Folk (abdomen) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. He’ll be replaced by K Brayden Narveson. Look elsewhere for Week 16 fantasy lineups.

Panthers WRs Jalen Coker (quad) and David Moore (concussion) are active for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. Moore should be a full-go. Coker carries a bit more risk after being added to the injury report on Thursday and limited in Friday’s practice.

11:35am UTC 12/22/24

Browns TE David Njoku (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, so there’s elevated risk of limited snaps and/or re-injury. Njoku also gets a QB downgrade in Dorian Thompson-Robinson. He’d be a shaky Week 16 fantasy start.

11:33am UTC 12/22/24

Colts K Matt Gay (neck) is active for today’s game vs. the Titans. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so the neck shouldn’t be much of an issue in this one.

11:32am UTC 12/22/24

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. His playing time shouldn’t be impacted by last week’s concussion, but Ertz draws a tough matchup against the No. 8 TE defense. See where he sits in the Week 16 TE Rankings.

Jets RB Braelon Allen (back) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He’s not a viable fantasy option, especially with RB Breece Hall off this week’s injury report.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. Pollard has been playing through injuries for much of the season, but he didn’t practice at all this week after aggravating his ankle injury in last Sunday’s game. We haven’t seen any specific reports about Pollard being limited today, but we’re projecting him to cede more work than usual to RB Tyjae Spears. See where both guys sit in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo confirms that Rams TE Tyler Higbee is expected to be limited in his return today from last January's torn ACL and MCL. Garafolo is expecting Higbee to play 20-25 plays vs. the Jets. Most of those figure to come in passing situations, but Higbee still should be nowhere near Week 16 fantasy lineups.

Bills QB Josh Allen had been playing through a fractured left hand suffered in the season-opening win over the Cardinals, NFL Network reports. That helps explain why Allen has taken just 15.4% of his snaps from under center this season, the third-lowest rate of his career. But it obviously hasn't impacted his production. Allen is "fully healthy" now, NFL Network adds. The story just adds context to what's been an MVP-caliber campaign from Allen.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Colts today. Schefter doesn't make any mention of Pollard being limited, but we'd be surprised if he handled his usual workload after missing practice all week. We're projecting RB Tyjae Spears to handle most of the passing-down snaps, while also cutting into Pollard's early-down work. See where both guys sit in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Falcons today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Tracy was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable, so it's safe to assume that he won't be at 100% for this one. He checks in 24th in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (wrist, personal) is expected to play vs. the 49ers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hill is listed as questionable after a limited practice on Friday, but we never sensed any concern about his availability for this one. Hill draws a tough San Francisco pass defense but has added target upside with WR Jaylen Waddle (knee) out.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys Edge Micah Parsons is "likely to play" against the Buccaneers tonight. Parsons is officially questionable with a stomach bug but should be ready for IDP lineups.

Jets DT Quinnen Williams will test his hamstring this morning ahead of the 1 p.m. ET game against the Rams, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "If he can go, it'll be in a limited role," Garafolo adds. We've had Williams projected lower than his usual level all week and would be wary of using him in Week 16 IDP lineups. We'll update his status when inactives come out.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion) is "trending toward playing" vs. the Eagles today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ertz is listed as questionable, but concussed players who won't get cleared in time to play are usually ruled out on Saturday. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET. Assuming he ends up active, Ertz will be a shaky TE1 play against Philadelphia's eighth-ranked TE defense.
