Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) got in a limited practice on Tuesday. That seemingly puts him on track to play vs. the 49ers on Saturday after he exited Week 18 with the back injury. We'll get another update on MVS on Wednesday.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that QB Jimmy Garoppolo has a "slight" sprain to his right (throwing) shoulder. The injury reportedly occurred in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's win over the Cowboys. Garoppolo didn't miss any time in that one and is expected to practice on Wednesday, per Shanahan. We'll keep an eye on him.

The Athletic's Greg Auman calls Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) a "question mark" for Sunday's Divisional Round game after listening to HC Bruce Arians' Monday press conference. Arians said that he'll need to see whether Fournette is able to go full speed in practice this week, per Auman. Unfortunately, we won't get practice reports on Fournette because he remains on IR. Tampa will need to activate him by 4 pm ET on Saturday if he's going to play Sunday.

Rams WR Van Jefferson (shoulder) is active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Cardinals. He was listed as questionable after going from full participation in Thursday's practice to limited on Friday and Saturday. Jefferson carries some extra risk in fantasy lineups tonight.

7:11pm EST 1/17/22

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (ankle) is active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Rams. It'll be the rookie's first action since Week 15. Moore figures to be 4th in line for snaps behind WRs Christian Kirk, A.J. Green and Antoine Wesley.

Cardinals RBs Chase Edmonds (ribs, toe) and James Conner (ribs) are active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Rams. Edmonds looks like the healthier of the 2 after getting in a full practice on Saturday and being left off the final injury report. Conner only got in a limited practice on Saturday and was listed as questionable.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott said after Sunday’s loss to San Francisco that he played part of the season with a PCL injury. "It was hard," Elliott said. "It's never fun being banged up. But it's my job to make sure I get my body right and be ready for this team, for the fanbase and for the coaches. It's hard, but that's my job. I won't need a procedure. I just partially tore my PCL this year. It was an injury that wasn't going to get worse, but it was just going to take time. I was just doing my job in playing through the injury. I was going out there and doing what I needed to do for my team.” Zeke, 27 in July, will return for his 7th season in Dallas next fall.

The 49ers lost DE Nick Bosa to a concussion in the 1st half of Sunday's win over the Cowboys. We'll see whether he can make it back in time for the Divisional-Round matchup with Green Bay.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams (toe) is active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Steelers. He's been mostly excellent as Kansas City's lead back this season, but the toe issue adds some risk to his fantasy profile in this one.

Chiefs WR Josh Gordon is a healthy scratch for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Steelers. Tyreek Hill, Byron Pringle, Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman will operate as Kansas City's top 4 WRs.

Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) is active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Chiefs. We'd be surprised if he played anything close to a full slate of snaps in his first action since early October.

7:21pm EST 1/16/22

Steelers RB Najee Harris (elbow) is active for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Chiefs. He put in a full practice on Friday and should be able to play his usual role in this one.

Bucs RB Gio Bernard (knee, hip) is active for today's Wild Card game vs. the Eagles. It'll be his first action since Week 14. Bernard is joined in the backfield by Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell. Vaughn figures to lead in carries, with Bernard and Bell handling the bulk of the passing-game work.

Rams WR Van Jefferson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Monday night's Wild Card game vs. the Cardinals. He went from full participation in Thursday's practice to limited on Friday and Saturday. We're expecting Jefferson to suit up, but he'd be a risky fantasy bet at less than 100%.

Patriots RB Damien Harris (hamstring) is active for tonight's game at Buffalo. Harris was a limited participant in practice all week. He enters with TDs in 5 straight, with 8 total scores over that stretch.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (ankle) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Rams. Limited in practice all week, the rookie is considered a game-time decision. Even if active, Moore should be off your radar in DFS contests.

Cardinals RB James Conner (ribs) returned to practice on Saturday. HC Kliff Kingsbury said the veteran was “able to do some things” during the session, per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. (Thanks, coach.) Conner remains a game-time decision for Monday night, but today’s development makes him a small favorite to play against L.A.

The Buccaneers are not activating RB Leonard Fournette from IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles. That means Tampa Bay will go with a backfield of Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Le'Veon Bell and Giovani Bernard, whom the team did activate Saturday. Fournette seems likely to make it back from his hamstring injury for the Divisional Round -- assuming the Bucs beat Philadelphia, of course.

The Rams have ruled S Taylor Rapp out for Monday night's game against the Cardinals. Rapp is dealing with a concussion he suffered last Sunday. His absence leaves L.A. without its 2 starting safeties, as Jordan Fuller had previously been deemed out for the season with an ankle injury. The Rams signed veteran S Eric Weddle early in the week. Stu Jackson of the team website reports that coaches are "looking at a range of possible snaps for him." Elsewhere on the defense, HC Sean McVay said there's a "good chance" LB Troy Reeder will wear the green dot and call the defensive plays, which points to full playing time for Reeder.

The Steelers have activated WR JuJu Smith-Schuster from IR, making him eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He had previously said he'd take part. It's tough to know just how much we can expect, though, from a guy who is coming off October shoulder surgery. Smith-Schuster is no more than a fringe fantasy football consideration for what will likely be Pittsburgh's lone playoff game.
