Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito was limited in Tuesday's practice with a right forearm issue. He wasn't listed on the injury report on Monday. “I’m hopeful, but it’s not 100%" that DeVito will play vs. the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, HC Brian Daboll said. We'll see how DeVito is listed on the final injury report tomorrow. QB Drew Lock would get the nod against Dallas if DeVito is out.
Cowboys LB Eric Kendricks and CB Trevon Diggs have each been listed as missing practice Monday and Tuesday, ahead of the Thanksgiving Day game against the Giants. Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram says it's "gonna be close" for each guy making it back to play in that game.
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee) was limited in Tuesday's practice. This seems to be a legitimate injury, rather than just early-week rest. But HC Dan Campbell said he feels "pretty good" about St. Brown playing vs. the Bears on Thanksgiving. We'll update his status again tomorrow.
Lions RB David Montgomery (shoulder) got in a limited practice on Tuesday. HC Dan Campbell said he feels "pretty good" about Montgomery's status for Thursday's game vs. the Bears. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but Montgomery can be penciled into Week 13 fantasy lineups for now.
After being cut by the Broncos yesterday, TE Greg Dulcich was claimed by the New York Giants. He enters a thin TE room though rookie Theo Johnson has a strong hold on the starting job.
The Commanders placed K Austin Seibert (hamstring) on IR. Seibert returned from a two-game absence last week and missed two XPs and one FG in Washington's loss to the Cowboys. The team will likely turn back to K Zane Gonzalez, who made all three of his FGs and all four of his XPs in those two games Seibert missed.
Chiefs K Spencer Shrader (hamstring) did not practice on Tuesday. The team signed K Matthew Wright to the practice squad, suggesting real concern about Shrader's availability for Friday's game vs. the Raiders. We'll keep you updated on the situation. With Kansas City sporting a 27.5-point implied total, whoever is kicking for the Chiefs will be a viable Week 13 fantasy play.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) will return to practice this week but is not expected to play vs. the Saints on Sunday, HC Sean McVay said. Higbee is working his way back from January's torn ACL and MCL. He's a long shot to be a bankable fantasy option the rest of the season and can be left on waiver wires.
The Raiders are preparing QB Aidan O'Connell to start Friday's game vs. the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. O'Connell is working back from a broken thumb, returning to practice on Monday and taking the first-team reps, per Pelissero. The second-year QB threw for 227 yards, one TD, and one INT vs. Pittsburgh in his only full game this season. TE Brock Bowers caught nine of 10 targets for 71 yards in that one. (WR Jakobi Meyers did not play.) We're not considering O'Connell an upgrade or downgrade from QB Gardner Minshew or QB Desmond Ridder.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews rebounded to post a 5-catch, 44-yard line in Monday's win over the Chargers. He added his sixth TD of the season.
Rams WR Demarcus Robinson was charged with DUI after being pulled over in Los Angeles early Monday morning, according to TMZ. Robinson was allegedly driving "in excess of 100 mph" and showed signs of impairment. There's a good chance this earns Robinson a suspension, although it might not come this season. We'll keep you updated on the situation.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins injured his left knee in the first half of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He was initially deemed questionable to return before being ruled out during the second half. Dobbins had a large brace on the injured knee, according to the ESPN broadcast. This is the same left knee in which Dobbins tore multiple ligaments in August 2021. We'll update his status as soon as we know more. Dobbins' absence would leave Gus Edwards as the Chargers' lead ball carrier. RB Hassan Haskins could see a bit more work on early downs, while RB Kimani Vidal would be the favorite for primary pass-catching duties.
The league on Monday reinstated Patriots S Jabrill Peppers from the commissioner's exempt list. He missed the past seven games after early October assault charges. Peppers' next court date in the case is scheduled for January, and the NFL is reportedly continuing its own investigation.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (shoulder) did some "light throwing" on Monday and felt good, HC Kyle Shanahan said. “We didn’t push him that hard,” Shanahan added. “But he did some light throwing, which was a good sign. We’ll rest him tomorrow and see how he feels as the week goes.” Two MRIs on Purdy's throwing shoulder last week -- one on Monday, one on Thursday -- revealed no structural damage. Purdy seemingly has a chance to return for Sunday night's game vs. the Bills, but we'll keep you updated on his progress throughout the week. Shanahan said QB Brandon Allen would get another start in Buffalo if Purdy is out.
The Broncos waived TE Greg Dulcich. The 2022 third-rounder flashed as a rookie but has struggled with injuries for much of his time in the NFL. He's been a healthy scratch for Denver's last eight games. We'll see where Dulcich lands, but it's not a good sign when you're released before your rookie contract is up. Dulcich is not a must-hold in dynasty leagues.
Ravens LB Roquan Smith is inactive for tonight's game against the Chargers. That leaves Trenton Simpson as the likely lead LB for Baltimore and Malik Harrison elevated to the No. 2 slot. Harrison has officially started 28 games across 4.5 NFL seasons but never posted enviable numbers. He's only an emergency IDP option.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) is active for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. He got in just two limited practices this week and was listed as questionable, but we never sensed any real concern about his availability for this one. We're expecting McConkey to play his usual role tonight.
Texans DB Jalen Pitre suffered a partial pectoral tear in Sunday's loss to the Titans that is expected to cost him "multiple weeks," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The team doesn't yet know how long he'll be out or whether Pitre will eventually need surgery.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said Monday that TE Jake Ferguson (concussion) is "a little more of a long shot" for Thursday's game vs. the Giants. Ferguson didn't practice at all last week, so he still has multiple stages of the protocol to clear. His absence would again leave TE duties to Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford. Schoonmaker delivered a 3-55-1 line in Week 12, but he saw only four targets on a 59% route rate. He'd be a shaky play in season-long leagues this week, with no teams on bye.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on Monday, HC Doug Pederson said. The team will monitor Lawrence throughout the week before deciding whether he'll play against the Texans on Sunday. We're not sure why Lawrence would push through this injury for the 2-9 Jags, but his return would be good news for the offense. Jacksonville totaled 216 passing yards and 13 points over the last two games with QB Mac Jones.
