Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson injured the middle finger on his right (throwing) hand in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. Wilson got it taped up and returned for the next possession. But it was QB Geno Smith under center the next time Seattle took the field. We'll update Wilson's status when we know more.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee injured his shoulder in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Seahawks and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Higbee returned after missing just a few plays.

Jets RB Elijah Moore (concussion) graduated to a full practice on Thursday. Barring a setback, he'll play vs. Atlanta in London on Sunday morning.

Jets TE Tyler Kroft (back) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. Ryan Griffin will step in as New York’s lead TE but isn’t a fantasy option.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (shoulder) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He's tentatively expected back for this weekend's game vs. the Packers, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Titans WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) graduated to a full practice on Thursday. He's on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars -- and should dominate targets with WR Julio Jones still out.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's a long shot to play vs. the Jaguars this weekend.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback last week or is simply getting some time off. Either way, Samuel shouldn't be in your Week 5 fantasy plans after playing limited snaps in his 2021 debut last week.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He played through this issue last week and should be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Saints.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He played through this injury last week -- although he posted a 48% route rate. It'd be nice to see Cooper get in a full workout on Friday.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He sat out on Wednesday with what he called knee "tightness," but it doesn't look like anything that will impact his status for this weekend's game vs. the Giants. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

49ers TE George Kittle (calf) missed practice again on Thursday. He was in the same boat at this time last week before putting in a limited practice on Friday and then playing his usual role on Sunday. We're fully expecting him to play vs. the Cardinals this weekend.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) missed practice again on Thursday. It continues to look like QB Trey Lance will get his 1st career start vs. Arizona this weekend. We'll see if Garoppolo can get on the practice field tomorrow.

Broncos RB Melvin Gordon (lower leg) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We're expecting him to be available for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. It gives him a chance to play vs. the Steelers this weekend, but he still has work to do to clear the protocol. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. At this point, he seems unlikely to play vs. the Packers this weekend. HC Bill Callahan said it'll be a "committee" approach with RBs Samaje Perine and Chris Evans if Mixon is out. We're expecting Perine to handle most of the rushing work, with Evans entering in passing situations.

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski (ribs, lung) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. Make other plans for your Week 5 fantasy lineups. Gronk looks like a long shot to play vs. Miami on Sunday.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. He claims he didn't aggravate his ankle injury last week, but he clearly wasn't anywhere close to 100% in that one. It'd sure make sense for the Vikings to hold him out of a game vs. the Lions on Sunday that they can win without him. We'll get another update on Cook tomorrow. Alexander Mattison will be a fantasy RB1 if Cook is out.

Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (shoulder) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He returned to last week's game after hurting his shoulder and was working off to the side of Thursday's practice, according to Darren Urban of the team's official website. Edmonds still has a shot to play vs. the 49ers this weekend, but check back tomorrow for another update.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) remained limited on Thursday. He was limited in all 3 practices last week before missing the Seahawks game. It looks like the rookie still hasn't been cleared for contact. Check back tomorrow for another update on Mitchell's status for Sunday's game vs. Arizona.
