Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton is active for today’s game vs. the Steelers. He was a game-time decision after rolling his ankle in Friday’s practice. It obviously adds risk to Sutton’s Week 5 fantasy profile.

11:34am EDT 10/10/21

Broncos RB Melvin Gordon (lower leg) is active for today’s game against the Steelers. He played through this injury last week, and we’re not expecting it to be an issue today.

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Steelers. He’s a weak fantasy play in a tough matchup and with a banged-up pass-catching corps.

11:33am EDT 10/10/21

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Saints. Samuel played just 37% of the offensive snaps in his 2021 debut last week and got in just 1 limited practice this week. He’s a shaky fantasy play.

11:33am EDT 10/10/21

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) is active for today’s game vs. the Saint. He’ll be playing through a stress fracture in that shin. Gibson played a season-low 55% of the offensive snaps with this injury last week, finishing with 14 carries and 2 targets.

11:33am EDT 10/10/21

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) is INACTIVE for today’s game against the Lions. It’s a smart move by Minnesota to sit him. Cook’s absence turns Alexander Mattison into a RB1. He racked up 171 yards on 32 touches when Cook was inactive in Week 3.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is active for today’s game against the Vikings. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and admitted that he won’t be at 100% today. Hockenson is a riskier fantasy play than usual.

Lions RBs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams (hip) are active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. We’re expecting both guys to be available to play their usual roles.

11:30am EDT 10/10/21

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed this morning that Mixon won’t be at 100%. We’re not expecting him to get his usual workload, leaving him as a risky fantasy play.

ESPN's Jeff Darlington reports that Dolphins WR DeVante Parker won't play vs. the Bucs today. Parker dealt with hamstring tightness late in the week. With WR Will Fuller (finger) also out, Miami is down to WRs Jaylen Waddle, Preston Williams, Albert Wilson and Mack Hollins. Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki are strong target bets today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport both report that Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (finger) could be back by Week 10. Rapoport calls it the "best-case scenario." Wilson will at least miss Seattle's next 3 games vs. Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Jacksonville. The Seahawks then have a Week 9 bye before a Week 10 game in Green Bay. We'll see if Wilson can make it back for that one.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Packers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport confirms that Mixon "won't be 100%" but doesn't say whether he'll be on any type of snap or touch count. We're expecting Mixon to be limited to some extent and would try to avoid Cincinnati's backfield in Week 5 fantasy lineups.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) is expected to play vs. the Saints today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Samuel played just 37% of the offensive snaps in his 2021 debut last week and got in just 1 limited practice this week. He's not a viable fantasy option until we know he's at least close to 100%.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) is expected to play vs. the Saints today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gibson will be playing through a stress fracture in his shin after putting in 2 limited practices this week. Consider him a risk/reward RB2 in Week 5 fantasy lineups.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Giants today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Cooper played through this injury last week and got in 2 limited practices this week. Still, he comes with elevated risk in fantasy lineups today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is expected to play vs. the Giants today. Zeke sat out Wednesday's practice with what he called knee "tightness" but returned to limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. We've heard nothing to suggest that he'll be limited today.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (ankle) is a game-time decision for today's tilt with the Steelers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Sutton rolled his ankle in Friday's practice, although inside Mike Klis reported that it's "not overly serious." We'll get Sutton's game status around 11:30 am ET.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater has cleared the concussion protocol and will start today's game in Pittsburgh. It's good news for Denver's offense. But Bridgewater will be without WR Jerry Jeudy, WR K.J. Hamler, TE Albert Okwuegbunam and possibly WR Courtland Sutton.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Lions RB Jamaal Williams (hip) is expected to play vs. the Vikings today. He was limited in practice all week, but we never sensed any concern about Williams' status. He should be ready for his usual role today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is expected to play vs. the Vikings today. Hockenson got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday but admitted that he won't be at 100%. We downgraded him a bit in the Week 5 TE Rankings.
