Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown left Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a right knee injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it's merely bursitis and not believed to be serious.

Browns HC Kevin Stefansk said Monday that QB Jameis Winston remains the team's starter "for the duration." That plan could change, of course, depending on Winston's play. But he'll at least start this weekend's game vs. the Saints.

QB C.J. Stroud helped stake the Texans to a 23-7 first-half lead Sunday night against the Lions but wound up struggling -- predictably -- the rest of the way. He threw for 164 yards and a TD on 14-of-20 passing in the first half, finding WR John Metchie in the end zone late in the second quarter. But Stroud went just 6 for 13 after the break, for 68 yards and a pair of INTs.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta was knocked out of Sunday night's game vs. the Texans with a shoulder injury. HC Dan Campbell said afterward that LaPorta is believed to be dealing with an AC joint sprain but will undergo more testing on Monday. "It’s not something like he’s gonna be out four weeks. It’s like, maybe he’ll miss this week, we’ll see," Campbell added. We should get another update on LaPorta's status within the next 24 hours.

Lions WR Jameson Williams ranked second on the team in pass routes, third in targets, and tied for second in receptions in Sunday's win over the Texans. He tallied 3 receptions for 53 yards on 5 targets.

Texans WR John Metchie tied for the team lead with 5 receptions in Sunday night's loss to the Lions. He also led Houston with 74 receiving yards and snagged the team's only TD catch.

Lions QB Jared Goff had a rough Sunday night against the Texans. He went just 7-of-17 passing for 91 yards in the first half, with 1 TD and 3 INTs -- though the third of those came on a half-ending hail mary. Goff tossed another 2 INTs in the second half. But he also completed eight of 13 throws for 149 yards and another TD in piloting the comeback victory.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb tallied just 21 yards on 6 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, the first game since QB Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring injury. That's not helping any fantasy teams. But Lamb did, at least, maintain strong shares of the receiving work.

Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle went for just 56 total yards in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Eagles. He rushed 12 times for 53 (4.4 per rush) and added only 3 yards on 3 receptions. The positive? Dowdle continued to assert himself as the backfield leader.

Cowboys QB Cooper Rush threw for just 45 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles before getting yanked in the fourth quarter. He completed 13 of 23 passes, with no TDs or INTs. But Rush also lost a pair of fumbles despite taking just 1 sack. Trey Lance came on for 21 passing yards, 17 rushing yards, 1 INT, and 2 sacks taken.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith managed just 2 receptions for 14 yards on 3 targets in Sunday's win over the Cowboys. Even amid limited passing volume for the team overall, that marked just a 15% target share -- in a game that saw TE Dallas Goedert return.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert scored his team's second TD in Sunday's win over the Cowboys, snagging the 14-yarder late in the first half. That was one of two catches for 25 yards among 3 targets.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts ran for a pair of TDs and threw for the other two in Sunday's lopsided win over the Cowboys. He rushed for 56 yards and the 2 TDs on 7 carries, adding 202 passing yards on 14-of-20 passing. Hurts found TE Dallas Goedert for a TD from 14 yards out and rookie WR Johnny Wilson for a 5-yard score.

Saints TE Taysom Hill managed just 50 total yards in Sunday's win over the Falcons. He carried four times for 14 yards and caught both of his targets for 36 more. Hill accrued 34 of those yards of one short completion, which actually went for an 88-yard TD. But it came back to the Saints' 36-yard line on a Foster Moreau holding penalty.

Falcons QB Kirk Cousins tallied 306 yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints, his second-largest yardage total of the season. But it's tough to say he had a good game. Cousins' 60.5% completion rate was his second-lowest of the season. He accompanied that with 0 TDs, 1 INT, and 2 fumbles -- though Atlanta recovered both of them.

Saints QB Derek Carr threw for a nice 269 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Falcons. Most of his production came on three completions to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The pair connected on a 40-yard TD, a 67-yarder to set up another score, and then the 2-yard TD to finish that position. Carr tallied 160 yards on his remaining 13 completions (among 22 other attempts). Carr added 17 yards on 4 carries.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara easily led the team in both carries and targets for the second straight game Sunday. He handled 17 of New Orleans' 19 RB carries (89.5%), though he gained just 55 yards (3.2 per rush). Kamara's 6 targets doubled his nearest teammate, and he also led the way with 5 receptions.

The Jets offense struggled mightily as a whole, but WR Davante Adams' 13 targets led the team. He only was able to bring in six for 31 yards. Teammate Garrett Wilson only caught five of six targets for 41 yards while RB Breece Hall had 83 total yards in the game and no scores.

Surprisingly, Cardinals RB James Conner tied for the team league in targets with five and led the team in receiving with 80 yards. He ran the ball 12 times for 33 yards and a TD and was actually outperformed by rookie RB Trey Benson who had 62 yards rushing on 10 carries.
