Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The ankle injury that Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered late in Sunday's loss to the 49ers is not believed to be significant, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Tagovailoa reportedly could have re-entered the game and is expected to start next weekend's game vs. the Chargers, Pelissero adds. We'll keep an eye on Tua's practice participation this coming week, but it sounds like he'll be available for Week 14 fantasy lineups.

Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke threw for 275 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's tie with the Giants. He found WR Terry McLaurin and WR Jahan Dotson for TDs. Heinicke threw no INTs in the game but fumbled twice, losing 1. He also took 5 sacks. Washington gets a Week 14 bye before a rematch with the Giants.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin caught 8 balls for 105 yards and a TD in Sunday's tie with the Giants. His 12 targets led the team and constituted 29.3% of QB Taylor Heinicke's total pass attempts. WR Curtis Samuel followed with 6 receptions for 63 yards. WR Jahan Dotson added a 5-54-1 receiving line. The rookie's 9 targets ranked 2nd on the team. Washington now gets a Week 14 bye, then a rematch with the Giants.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. followed his best rushing performance of the season with his 2nd most efficient outing in Sunday's tie with the Giants. He ran 21 times for 96 yards, a 4.6-yard average. That trails only his 5.8 vs. Atlanta in Week 12 and was just his 2nd game this season with 4.0+ yards per rush. Robinson added 2 catches for 15 yards on 2 targets. he matched RB Antonio Gibson's reception total, while beating his backfield mate by 12 rushes. Robinson now gets a Week 14 bye before a rematch with the Giants. After that comes a tough spot vs. San Francisco, but then a top-notch rushing matchup with the Browns.

Texans WR Nico Collins managed just 3 catches for 35 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns, despite leading the team with 10 targets. That marked a 25.6% share of Houston's total pass attempts and beat his nearest teammate by 4 targets. Collins did, at least, snag the team's only TD: a 6-yard catch with just less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. We'll see about WR Brandin Cooks' availability for a Week 14 visit to Dallas.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed 18 times for 73 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns, adding 22 more yards on 3 receptions. That didn't make for big fantasy football numbers, but it did mark a big improvement over the previous 2 weeks. Pierce totaled just 16 yards on 8 touches at Miami last week and 17 yards on 12 touches vs. Washington the week before. We'll see what the rookie can do in Week 14 at Dallas.

Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones led the team in receiving yards Sunday, but it only took 44 of them to do so. DPJ did that on 3 catches, among 3 targets. That was good enough to rank 2nd on the team. Only WR Amari Cooper drew more targets (9) or caught more passes (4). Peoples-Jones made his day with a 76-yard punt return for a TD, though, saving his fantasy line in any league that credits players for return TDs.

Browns WR Amari Cooper drew 9 targets, 41% of the team's total pass attempts in QB Deshaun Watson's debut Sunday against the Texans. Cooper managed just 4 receptions for 40 yards. Watson completed only 54.5% of his throws in his 1st action since the 2020 season. We'd assume Watson will improve from here, but it'll need to happen quickly for Cooper's sake.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson completed just 12 of his 22 pass attempts for 131 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans. He threw an INT and added a mere 21 rushing yards on 7 carries in a game that found Cleveland scoring 0 offensive TDs. It was Watson's 1st game since January 2021, so we'd assume he'll settle in over the next few weeks. There will obviously be risk to playing Watson against Cincinnati in Week 14 lineups, though.

Browns RB Nick Chubb posted a relatively disappointing 80 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's win over the Texans. It obviously wasn't a terrible day, as Chubb averaged 4.7 yards per rush. But that's 0.5 short of his season per-carry average. He also fell 1.2 attempts and 14.5 yards short of his weekly averages in those categories. That hurt fantasy football lineups that were hoping for a big score against 1 of the league's worst run defenses. Chubb also failed to reach the end zone for just the 2nd time among the past 6 games. RB Kareem Hunt added 56 yards on 9 carries (6.2 per rush) and caught 2 balls for 18 yards among 3 targets. Week 14 holds a rematch with the Bengals, who allowed Chubb a 23-101-2 rushing line back in Week 8.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford has been diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion, HC Sean McVay said after Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. The "indication" is that it's a season-ending injury, McVay added. Stafford was placed on IR this week, knocking him out until at least Week 17. And we'd be surprised if he played in either of the final 2 games for the going-nowhere Rams. We'll see if the injury impacts Stafford's 2023 offseason.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo broke his left foot in the win over Miami and will miss the rest of the season, HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward. It's a significant loss for a 'Niners squad that already lost QB Trey Lance. That leaves the starting job to QB Brock Purdy, who played surprisingly well against the Dolphins, completing 25 of 37 passes for 210 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. Purdy will only be a fantasy option in 2-QB and Superflex leagues. But he seems capable of keeping this offense afloat the rest of the way.

Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (illness) and S Jayron Kearse (shoulder) are active for tonight's game against the Colts.

The Jets limited Vikings WR Justin Jefferson to 45 yards on 7 catches among 11 targets in Sunday's Minnesota win. Jefferson did find the end zone from 10 yards out in the middle of the 4th quarter to save what would have been a disappointing fantasy day by his standards otherwise. A Week 14 clash with the Lions presents an opportunity for Jefferson to avenge his worst outing of the year: 3 catches for 14 yards in Week 3. TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Adam Thielen tied for 2nd in targets against the Jets with 6 apiece. Hockenson caught 4 for 33 yards. Thielen caught 2 balls for 27 yards.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook ran for 86 yards and a TD on 20 carries in Sunday's win over the Jets. He dominated backfield work, beating #2 RB Alexander Mattison by 17 attempts. Mattison scored the team's other rushing TD from 14 yards out in the 2nd quarter, however. Cook added 2 catches among 3 targets but lost 3 yards on those plays. (None went for a gain.) Minnesota heads to Detroit next week, a positive matchup for everyone on offense.

Jets offensive savior QB Mike White racked up 369 yards on 31-of-57 passing in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. White targeted WR Garrett Wilson with 26.3% of his attempts, and the rookie accounted for 43.9% of White's passing yards. WR Corey Davis checked in 2nd with 85 receiving yards. No other Jet exceeded 38. White tossed a pair of costly INTs but added a TD plunge. It was his 2nd straight game over 300 passing yards. He's likely to find a tougher defensive draw at Buffalo in Week 14.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson racked up 162 yards on 8 catches in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. His target count (15) was helped by QB Mike White attempting 57 passes for the game. But Wilson still claimed a 26.3% share. WR Corey Davis ranked 2nd with 10 targets, catching 5 for 85 yards. TE Tyler Conklin tied RB Ty Johnson for 3rd with 7 targets. WR Elijah Moore caught only 2 of 6 targets for 7 yards. The Jets travel to Buffalo in Week 14.

Jets RB Zonovan Knight handled 15 of the Jets' 20 RB carries in Sunday's loss at Minnesota. He ran for 90 yards (6.0 per rush), with more than half of that coming on a 48-yard scamper. Knight added 5 catches for 28 yards on 5 targets. RB Ty Johnson beat him in targets, catching 6 of 7 for 38 yards. James Robinson ranked 2nd in carries, with 4, gaining just 10 yards. HC Robert Saleh said the team planned a committee approach, but Knight operated as the clear leader in Michael Carter's absence (ankle sprain). We'll see about Carter's status for next Sunday's trip to Buffalo.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. QB Skylar Thompson finished out the game. We'll look for an update on Tagovailoa's injury. He took 3 Nick Bosa sacks in this one.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift saw a large increase in playing time in Sunday's victory over the Jaguars. He ran 14 times for 62 yards and a TD, adding 4 catches for 49 yards on 6 targets. Swift played more snaps than RB Jamaal Williams for the 1st time since Week 2, beating him by 3 carries and 5 targets. Williams still scored again, among 11 carries for 35 yards. His only target fell incomplete.
