Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs suffered an ACL tear in Thursday's practice and will miss the rest of the season. That leaves one of the top-performing defenses so far without its lead cover man. Fantasy wise, it's probably not a big deal at least for matchups with the Cardinals and Patriots the next two weeks. And we're not significantly downgrading the Dallas DST overall. But losing a top coverage player and big-play producer certainly dings the upside of the Cowboys defense.

Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend, the team announced. That'll leave QB Andy Dalton under center, which might actually be an upgrade at this point. Young has struggled mightily so far, completing 59% of his passes and averaging 4.2 yards per attempt. Dalton played well for New Orleans last year, finishing with a 67% completion rate and 7.6 yards per attempt. Hopefully you're not relying too much on this passing game in fantasy lineups, but WR Adam Thielen and TE Hayden Hurst remain fine lower-end plays.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (concussion) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's now looking unlikely to play vs. the Ravens this weekend. That'd leave QB Gardner Minshew under center. Minshew is a capable passer, sporting a career 63% completion rate and 7.1 yards per attempt. And the Colts probably attempt at least a few more passes with Minshew than Richardson. WR Michael Pittman is a nice fantasy WR2 regardless of who's at QB for Indianapolis.

Colts RB Evan Hull will miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus, insider Jordan Schultz reports. Go ahead and drop the rookie in all redraft leagues. The Colts are down to RBs Zack Moss, Deon Jackson, and Jake Funk for now. RB Jonathan Taylor is eligible to come off IR after Week 4.

Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) will miss practice again on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Young seems to be in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. His absence would leave QB Andy Dalton under center. We'll get another update on Young's status tomorrow.

Bills TE Dawson Knox (back) missed practice again on Thursday. He's seemingly in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. Knox's absence would figure to turn TE Dalton Kincaid into close to an every-down player -- and a nice TE1 play in fantasy lineups.

Texans LB Denzel Perryman missed Wednesday's practice with a hand injury. We're not concerned yet. Perryman played every snap of Sunday's loss to the Colts. But we'll track his status throughout the week. S Jalen Pitre remained out of practice as well following his Week 1 lung bruise. Pitre missed Week 2. We'll see about his status for Sunday.

Jaguars Edge Josh Allen managed a limited practice Wednesday. That's good news after he left Sunday's loss to the Chiefs early with a shoulder injury. We'll keep watching his progress through the week. Make sure you have an insurance option available.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He still has some work to do to clear the concussion protocol. We'll update Meyers' status again tomorrow.

Raiders WR Davante Adams was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He's listed on the injury report, "Gameday concussion protocol evaluation." We've never seen that before. Regardless, Adams is on track to play vs. the Steelers this weekend.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. Mooney said earlier this week that he expects to play vs. the Chiefs on Sunday, but we'll track his status over the next few days.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (ribs) did not practice on Wednesday. Both he and HC Pete Carroll said that Metcalf will be available for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. He can stay penciled into fantasy lineups, but we'll track his status over the next few days.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him playing vs. the Bills this weekend, but we'll keep you updated on Thomas' progress through the protocol.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Brandon Staley said earlier this week that there's no timetable for Ekeler's return. Fantasy owners should not be banking on Ekeler playing in this weekend's game vs. the Vikings. That'd again leave Joshua Kelley as the Chargers' lead back.

Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He returned to a limited practice for the first time since going down last Friday before missing the Falcons game. We're tentatively expecting Watson to play vs. the Saints this weekend but will keep tabs on his progress over the next few days.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. That's not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. We'll update Jones' status again tomorrow.

Lions RB David Montgomery (thigh) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Dan Campbell isn't ruling Montgomery out just yet for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons, but we're not expecting him to play. We'll see if he gets back on the field tomorrow.

Browns WR Amari Cooper (shoulder, groin) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through the groin issue on Monday night, but the shoulder is new. We'll track Cooper's status over the next few days but are tentatively expecting him to play vs. the Titans on Sunday.

Ravens WR Odell Beckham (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this week that Beckham's injury isn't expected to cost his time, but we'll keep an eye on his status over the next few days leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Colts.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Rams are trading RB Cam Akers to the Vikings in exchange for a swap of 2026 NFL Draft picks. Akers was a surprise inactive on Sunday vs. the 49ers, and HC Sean McVay reiterated to the media on Monday that the team was trying to deal away the former second-round pick. This news brings the "will they, won't they" saga dating back to the 2022 season to a close and also muddies the outlook for incumbent Vikings RB Alexander Mattison. Fantasy managers who roster Mattison will now have to worry about Akers, who has connections to HC Kevin O'Connell and OC Wes Phillips dating back to their days in Los Angeles, coming in and taking away some work. This could be merely a depth move, though Mattison has not been particularly effective this season, averaging just 31.0 rushing yards per game. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the fantasy fallout of this trade.
