Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. RB Nick Chubb (knee) is listed as questionable but is expected to play, HC Kevin Stefanski said on Friday. It’ll be Chubb’s first game since his September 2023 multi-ligament knee injury. We’ll look for reports on Cleveland’s plans for Chubb in this one, but we’d be surprised if he got anything close to a full workload. See where Chubb lands in the Week 7 RB Rankings.
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. He remained sidelined in practice all week. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 8’s meeting with the Texans. Taylor's absence again leaves Indianapolis’ backfield to Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson. Sermon remained the lead back last week, but Goodson was much more effective. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him take on an expanded role vs. Miami.
Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) will start this weekend's game vs. the Dolphins, HC Shane Steichen confirmed on Friday. Richardson put in a full week of practice and should be nearing 100% at this point. Consider him a risk/reward QB1 play against a Dolphins squad that ranks 16th in pass defense DVOA and 31st in run defense DVOA. Richardson's return is a significant downgrade for WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.
Panthers TE Tommy Tremble (concussion, back) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Commanders. It looks like he cleared concussion protocol but missed Friday’s practice with a back issue. Tremble shouldn’t be in your Week 7 fantasy plans, but his absence would turn TE Ja’Tavion Sanders into a viable flier. The rookie caught five of seven targets for 49 yards with Tremble out last week.
Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle, ribs, hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He's been playing through the ankle issue for the past two weeks, but the rib and hamstring were added to the injury report on Friday. Johnson only got in a limited practice on Friday, which is the least amount of work he's gotten in a week this season. We'll look for further updates on his status. We won't get Carolina's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.
Bills WR Amari Cooper is expected to play vs. the Titans on Sunday, according to insider Jordan Schultz. HC Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane were non-committal on Cooper's status for that one earlier this week. He'll have had just three practices with his new team prior to Sunday's game, so it'd be a surprise if Cooper played a full slate of snaps. We could certainly see QB Josh Allen look to get Cooper the ball when he is on the field, but he'd still be a risky Week 7 fantasy play.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) "likely" to play vs. the Lions this weekend. He did not practice on Wednesday but returned to a limited workout on Thursday. Jones has been awesome this season, averaging 80 rushing yards and 36 receiving yards per game. The hamstring adds some risk to his Week 7 outlook, though. And Jones faces a tough Lions run defense that's limited RBs to just 3.6 yards per carry this year.
Saints CB Paulson Adebo fractured his right femur in Thursday night's loss to the Broncos. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Adebo already had surgery early Friday morning and is looking at a 4-5 month recovery timeline. Adebo is set to hit unrestricted free agency in March.
Broncos RB Javonte Williams ran 14 times for 88 yards and two TDs in Thursday night's win over the Saints. He found more running room than he did in any of his previous six games this season and consistently added extra yards with his tackle-breaking ability. Per Pro Football Focus, Williams averaged 3.6 yards after contact per attempt. He tacked on 23 more yards on three receptions to go over 110 total yards on the night.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara mustered just 24 scoreless yards in the Week 7 loss to the Broncos. Down their starting QB, top two WRs, and multiple starting offensive linemen, the Saints offense had no chance against a quality Broncos defense. New Orleans mustered just 271 total yards and 10 points. Kamara found no running room, averaging an ugly 1.4 yards on his seven carries. He at least caught six of seven targets to help his PPR tally -- but those grabs totaled only 14 yards.
Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion) got in a limited practice on Thursday. So he's made some progress through the protocol and has a chance to be cleared in time for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. We'll see how he progresses over the next few days.
Bucs RB Rachaad White (foot) got in a limited practice on Thursday. He was limited in the first practice last week before missing the final two and then the Saints game. We'll see how he progresses over the next few days. HC Todd Bowles said Thursday that White, Bucky Irving, and Sean Tucker will all play when healthy. "As the game goes, we’ll go with the hot hand and see who’s running what style and how it fits the game, and go with that guy," Bowles added. This will be a tough backfield to project when White returns.
Bucs WR Mike Evans (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday. HC Todd Bowles said Evans "tweaked" his leg in the Week 6 win over the Saints but is "getting better." He has an extra day to get ready for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. We'll see if Evans gets back on the field tomorrow.
Steelers RB Najee Harris (ribs) returned to a full practice on Thursday. He'll be ready for his usual role in Sunday night's game against the Jets.
49ers WR Jauan Jennings (hip) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He's seemingly in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. Jennings' absence would mean slight target projection boosts for WRs Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. We'll update Jennings' status again tomorrow.
Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Thursday with a hamstring. That puts his availability for this weekend's game vs. the 49ers in question. Check back on Friday for an update on Smith-Schuster's status.
Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. He's been playing through this ankle injury for the past two weeks, but this is the first time he's missed consecutive practices. We'll see if he gets on the field on Friday and then how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders.
Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice. Consider it good news that he was able to get on the field for a second consecutive day. We continue to project Kupp to play vs. the Raiders this weekend, but we'll see how he's listed on Friday's final injury report.
Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (ankle) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's not looking like a great bet to play vs. the Rams this weekend, but we'll get another update on Meyers' status on Friday afternoon.
Giants WR Malik Nabers (concussion) graduated to a full practice on Thursday. Barring a setback, he'll play vs. the Eagles this weekend. Nabers was off to a red-hot start prior to missing the last two games, averaging 13.0 targets, 8.8 catches, 97 yards, and 0.8 TDs per game over the first four weeks
