Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Saints with a head injury. He's presumably being checked for a concussion. We'll update Ertz's status when we learn more.

Update: Ertz is out with a concussion. It's his third documented concussion.

Jets RB Braelon Allen is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars with a back injury. His absence leaves the backfield to Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis.

Update: Allen returned in the third quarter.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle suffered an apparent ankle injury when he got rolled up on in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Texans. He hobbled off the field and into the medical tent. We'll update Waddle's status when we know more.

Update: Waddle is officially questionable to return with a knee injury.

Titans RB Tony Pollard is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals with an ankle injury. This is presumably an aggravation of the issue that had him questionable coming in. We'll update Pollard's status when we know more. His absence leaves Tyjae Spears as Tennessee's lead back.

Update: Pollard returned with about five minutes left in the first half.

The Texans get LB Christian Harris back today for the first time this season. He's been out since training camp with a calf strain, allowing Henry To'oTo'o to play in his spot. Harris' return coincides with the first game of LB Azeez Al-Shaair's three-game suspension, though. And that leaves uncertainty around how Houston will allot LB snaps today against the Dolphins.

Titans LB Jerome Baker is inactive for today's game against the Bengals. He carried no injury designation into the weekend, so that indicates the veteran is a healthy scratch.

Commanders K Zane Gonzalez (foot) is inactive for today's game vs. the Saints. He'll be replaced by K Greg Joseph, who was just called up from the practice squad. Joseph made 13 of 16 FG tries for the Giants earlier this season and owns a career 82.5% FG conversion rate. In a plus matchup in New Orleans, Joseph is a fine fantasy play if you were hoping to use Gonzalez.

Browns K Dustin Hopkins is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Chiefs. He's struggled all year, missing nine FGs and two XPs. Hopkins will be replaced by K Riley Patterson, who would be a bad fantasy play with rain and wind expected in Cleveland today.

11:33am EST 12/15/24

Jets RB Breece Hall (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was listed as questionable but was a full-go in Friday’s practice. And there was optimism about his status throughout the weekend. We’d still be surprised if Hall handled his normal workload for a Jets team with nothing to play for. Remember that Hall tallied just 12 carries and one target playing through this knee injury back in Week 13. He checks in as a low-end RB2 in the Week 15 Rankings.

Browns TE David Njoku (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. That leaves TE Jordan Akins as Cleveland’s lead TE, although he registered underwhelming 53%, 74%, and 40% route rates in the three games Njoku missed earlier this season. Akins totaled six catches on 10 targets for 49 scoreless yards over those three games. Look elsewhere in season-long lineups.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and was listed as questionable, so there’s clearly some risk here. But Pollard has been playing through injuries for much of the season, and we’ve heard nothing about his volume being scaled back today. See where Pollard sits in the Week 15 RB Rankings.

The forecast for today’s Chiefs-Browns game calls for a 60% chance of rain with sustained winds of 15 mph and gusts up around 30 mph. That’s enough wind to impact the passing and kicking games. Throw in the likelihood of rain and we’re looking at tough conditions. We’ve bumped down our passing projections for both teams and would avoid the kickers from this game. Check out the updated Week 15 Rankings to see where all the Chiefs and Browns land.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (personal) is out for today's game vs. the Jaguars. We'll look for more details on his situation and whether he'll be back for Week 16. His absence leaves Jeremy Ruckert as New York's likely lead TE, but he'd be a total desperation fantasy play.

Texans TE Cade Stover is out for today's game against the Dolphins after undergoing an emergency appendectomy last night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Stover has been running a route on about 30% of pass plays lately, averaging 2.2 targets over his last five games. His absence is a slight boost for TE Dalton Schultz.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport both label Browns TE David Njoku (hamstring) a game-time decision for today's tilt with the Chiefs. "Not practicing all week doesn't bode well," Rapoport adds. "But the team will give him a shot." We're still projecting Njoku to miss this one but will get Cleveland's inactives around 11:30 am ET. Even if he does play, he'll carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups with the hamstring injury.

The Chargers are "optimistic" that WR Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) will play against the Buccaneers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "The plan is for him to work out pregame," Rapoport adds. An active McConkey would be very tough to leave out of fantasy lineups against Tampa Bay's 24th-ranked WR defense. But we won't get the Chargers' inactives until a little before 3 pm ET. It'd be wise to have a late-game alternative rostered in case McConkey ends up inactive. Check the Week 15 Rankings and your Free Agent Finder for the best options.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (back, hip) is expected to play vs. the Chargers this afternoon, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That jibes with Jeremy Fowler's Saturday report on Irving. The rookie certainly seems on track to play today, but it's still uncertain how much work he'll be given and/or be able to handle. Irving had huge games in Weeks 12 and 13 but lasted just 10 snaps in Week 14. That's a good illustration of his range of outcomes today. Use the Who To Start Tool to see if Irving makes sense for your fantasy lineup.

Buccaneers WR Sterling Shepard (foot) is expected to play against the Chargers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Shepard only got in a limited practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. He's racked up 13 catches on 20 targets over the last three weeks but remains a low-level PPR option, especially with the foot injury.

Colts WR Josh Downs (shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Broncos today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Downs is listed as questionable but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. There's still likely some re-injury risk with the shoulder, though. And Downs gets a tough matchup against a Denver defense that ranks sixth in adjusted fantasy points allowed to slot receivers.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Bengals today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pollard is listed as questionable after getting in only a limited practice on Friday. He's been playing well through injuries for much of the season, though. Barring a report about his workload being scaled back, Pollard can stay in fantasy lineups as a RB2.
