Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chargers Edge Joey Bosa (toe) carries no injury status into Sunday's game against the Chiefs. It's the first time that has been the case for him since Week 2. Bosa's playing time climbed to 47% last week, his highest level since the season opener. This week's status and Bosa's full Friday practice points to further playing-time growth against Kansas City. We've moved Bosa up the Week 7 DL rankings a bit, but the matchup with the Chiefs remains negative for pass rushers.

Chargers S Derwin James is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He suffered an ankle injury Thursday and then missed Friday's workout. That bodes ill for James' chances this weekend, but we haven't yet seen any specifics beyond the questionable tag. We've moved James down our Week 7 DB rankings and will watch for more on his outlook. S Alohi Gilman (toe) has been ruled out for the third straight game.

The Eagles have ruled S Reed Blankenship (ribs) out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. That means Philly will miss both starting safeties, with Justin Evans already on IR. Undrafted rookie Mekhi Garner stepped in for Blankenship last week, but rookie Sydney Brown will reportedly start in his place against Miami. The whole situation looks tough for a defense about to face Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Brown and Terrell Edmunds -- the other starter -- both make for iffy IDP options.

Lions DB Brian Branch is off the final injury report and ready to play Sunday against the Ravens. The rookie missed the past two games after suffering an ankle sprain against the Packers in Week 4. He finished this week with a full Friday practice, though, and no game designation. Branch said earlier in the week he expected to play. Bet on a return to full playing time. Although he's listed as a safety on most fantasy platforms, Branch has primarily played slot CB. That should keep him busy in this matchup, with Nelson Agholor, Zay Flowers, and Mark Andrews all seeing significant time there. We have bumped the rookie way up our Week 7 DB rankings.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. He’s been out since Week 1 but should be ready to step back into a full-time role this weekend.

Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) is officially out for Sunday's game vs. the Rams. He reinjured his hamstring on Thursday and is expected to miss more time beyond Week 7, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward have tag-teamed TE duties with Freiermuth out. Neither is a viable fantasy play. WRs Diontae Johnson and George Pickens should pick up more volume with Freiermuth out.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. The rookie has averaged 4.3 targets, 3.8 catches, and 25 yards in four full games this season.

Bills QB Josh Allen (shoulder) is not listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. It doesn’t look like that shoulder will be a problem vs. the Patriots on Sunday.

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 7 injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. RB David Montgomery (ribs) is out, while RB Craig Reynolds (hamstring, toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens. We’ll see if Reynolds ends up active, but HC Dan Campbell confirmed Friday that Gibbs will lead the backfield this weekend. He handled 17 carries and two targets on a 60% snap rate with Montgomery out back in Week 3.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He got in just two limited practices this week but will evidently be ready for his usual role in Sunday’s night’s game vs. the Dolphins.

The Bills placed RB Damien Harris (neck, concussion) on IR. He'll miss at least the next four games and can be dropped in most fantasy leagues. RB Latavius Murray should get an uptick in work with Harris sidelined. Harris' absence can't hurt RB James Cook's volume either.

Bears HC Matt Eberflus said Friday that the team doesn't plan on putting QB Justin Fields (thumb) on IR. Eberflus labeled Fields "week-to-week," but no IR means that the team expects him back before Week 11. We'll continue to keep you updated on Fields' recovery. He remains worth stashing in most fantasy leagues.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. “He looked pretty good (but) he was limited, so we’ll see how he’s feeling," HC Matt LaFleur said after Friday's practice. It's concerning that Jones is still dealing with hamstring trouble coming off the bye. We'll look for further updates on his status. We won't get Green Bay's inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday.

Bears RB Roschon Johnson (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He's yet to return to practice, despite sustaining his concussion over two weeks ago. With RB Khalil Herbert (ankle) on IR, the Bears are down to RBs D'Onta Foreman, Darrynton Evans, and Travis Homer, who is set to return from his hamstring injury. Foreman is the favorite for carries after handling 15 of them last week.

Bears QB Justin Fields (thumb) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. He didn’t practice all week and, although Fields won’t have surgery, he isn’t a great bet to make it back for Week 8. Undrafted rookie QB Tyson Bagent makes his first career start this weekend. He’s not a viable fantasy play and makes WR D.J. Moore and TE Cole Kmet much riskier starts.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Colts. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re expecting Hunt to play but will get Cleveland’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Hunt’s absence would be a big boost to RB Jerome Ford.

Colts WR Alec Pierce (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Browns. He got in a full practice on Friday, so he should play. But Pierce is not a viable fantasy play against Cleveland’s top-ranked WR defense.

Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He was limited in practice all week, but HC Brian Daboll said Friday morning that Jones still hadn't been cleared for contact. We'll keep you updated on his status, but we're currently projecting QB Tyrod Taylor to start Sunday's game.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Colts. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, reportedly taking the first-team reps in the final practice of the week. "I thought he looked good," HC Kevin Stefanski said after Friday's practice. "I want to see how it responds over the next 48 hours... but he looked good today." We'll look for further updates on Watson's status, but we're tentatively expecting him to play on Sunday.

Update: Watson was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. He's operated as the Colts' lead TE this season, registering a 62% route rate and 11.7% target share. Granson's absence leaves the Colts with TEs Andrew Ogletree, Will Mallory, and Mo-Alie Cox. Avoid the situation in Week 7 fantasy lineups.
